LARGE DECORATIVE TILES:

These high relief decorative ceramic murals are typically used as the center piece of the kitchen backsplash, or as part of the ceramic tile bathroom design. They can be used alone or can be surrounded with flat tiles and high relief liners to fill a larger space on your wall. Think of these decorative murals as a piece of art. They can be placed on the wall alone, framed, or framed with a mat between the centerpiece and the frame. The use of flat tiles or stone can fill the space between the picture and the frame, and creates a larger visual impact.

Harvest Panel shown here surrounded with 10 pieces of Plain Frame liners which were cut to fit and rounded slightly before glazing to avoid sharp corners and edges. The color is Bronzed Terra Cotta and the total size as shown is 15 x 19 inches

Bordeaux (three piece center tile above and below) The tile itself is 11 1/2 x 17 inches. The picture below is a close up of the Bordeaux with complementary 2x2 inch Floret tiles in various colors. The surrounding tiles are Plain Frame Liners. Typically, I miter cut the corners, these solid corner pieces are available in gloss and matte colors only, not stone wash colors.

Fleur de Lis (the center three piece mural below) glaze color is Light Rosewood. 19 x 9 1/2"

This high relief ceramic mural is composed of a Fleur de Lis, 6 Single Scrolls and 4 Medium Medallions. The size of the Fleur de Lis tile alone is 19 x 9.5 inches. Once the other tiles are added, the total size is 27 x 17.5. With the use of flat tile, stone or liners, other sizes can be achieved.

Floral (center three piece mural) glaze color is Dark Rosewood. Size is 18 x 9 1/2 inches

The Floral mural has a classic architectural look and is one of my most popular ceramic wall tiles. The size is 18 x 9 ½ inches. Here it is surrounded with Thin Liners, 2 inch flat bars and Acanthus Liners. The Medium Medallions are typically used as a along the remainder of the backsplash to achieve a more cohesive look in your kitchen.

Single Scrolls can be used with the Floral to create many interesting combinations. The installation pictured below incorporated these tiles along with two rows of Half Round Liners. The liners also run the length of the backsplash to separate the flat tile patterns.

This set is 26 x 9.5 inches and has a Warm Cobblestone wash. The first picture on the Home page is a variation of these same tiles.

Double Scroll (two or four piece mural) glaze color is Cobblestone. The overall size of the set below is 18.5 x 16 inches which includes the Henry's Liner and Henry's Corners

Urn Panel (five piece mural) glaze color is Clear Brown

The Urn panel is my largest high relief ceramic tile at 25 1/4 x 12 1/4 inches. A backsplash mural as large as 39 x 26 inches can be created with 3x3 flat tiles and an Acanthus frame.

The tile below is framed with Henry's liner. The color is Brown on Red. Some of the glaze is brushed away before firing to create dark red highlights.

Lion Set (three piece) glaze color is Cobblestone

The size of this 3 piece Lion Set (left) is 14 x 21 inches. It can be used alone or flanked by two Bouquets to form a set of tiles that are 29 inches wide and 21 inches tall. (see the white Lion and Bouquets tiles below)

Bouquet..(below) Glaze color is Warn Cobblestone

This bathroom installation uses the Bouquet tile as well as Acanthus Liner around the mirror to create a high relief architectural feel.

The angled view below show the Lion and two Bouquets in Matte White surrounded by flat 2 x 4 flat tiles in a gloss Tan glaze. The Acanthus frame has been cut to fit, which insures that the design is continuous and uniform. An outstanding decorative mural.

French Flowers

The new five piece French Flowers tile (seen below in Warm Cobblestone) measures 14 x 36 inches, This is my largest high relief mural. The set above, which includes 2x2 flat tiles, Thin Liners and Plain Frame is a total of 23 x 45 inches in size.

English Panel

The entire insert below is 20 1/2 x 14 3/4 which includes the surrounding Plain Frame pieces.

The Paris One tile (above and left) is 18 x 8.5 and can be used horizontally or vertically.

Three Paris One tiles with 2x2s and Henry's Liner measures 37.5 x 26 inches.

The Paris Two tile ( below and on the Small Tiles Page) is 8 5 x 8.5 inches and can be combined with the Paris One tile for many interesting combinations.

Colonial Flower (the five piece center mural) is 21 x 10 3/4. Color is Very White.



			This Colonial Flower is surrounded by precut 2" strips and then Plain Frame liners, all sized to fit into an opening in a Corian backsplash. This decorative mural provides a eye catching centerpiece for the kitchen.

Toulouse (5 piece set) The center relief tile alone is 11.5 x 24 inches. Here it is surrounded by one inch wide Half Round Liner

Grape Vine (nine piece mural) The glaze color is Cobblestone and the size is 17 1/4 x 15 1/4.
